WALLACE, North Carolina – Led by sophomore
Ellinoora Moisio, UNCW completed the first day of competition at the River Landing Classic in fifth place following the first two rounds at River Landing Golf Course on Thursday afternoon.
East Tennessee State took the lead after the first day as the Bucs shot an eight-over-par 584 and hold a two-stroke lead over Penn State.
Moisio enters the final round in a tie for seventh place after carding a two-over-par 146, including a 71 in the second round.
Freshman
Thao My Nguyen holds a share of 18th place following a seven-over-par 149 in the two rounds while junior
Kayla Thompson is tied for 22nd place with a 150 tournament score.
Junior
Lyberty Anderson shot an 11-over-par 153 in the first two rounds to claim a share of 38th place while junior
Alaina Yeatts closes out the Seahawks' contingent in a tie for 47th place.
The third round of the River Landing Classic will take place on Friday morning with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
