Both teams are aiming to rebound from losses this past Sunday. While the Seahawks dropped a 76-71 decision at Furman, the Rams lost by a 70-57 count against Mercer at the Georgia State Thanksgiving Classic.

Five Things to Know
  1. UNCW is looking for its first 4-0 home start since 2007-08 when the Seahawks started their home slate with six straight wins.
  2. The Seahawks, who will be playing their fourth game in an eight-day span, averaged 68.3 points per game in their three contests last week while shooting 46.3 percent from the field.
  3. VCU, which brings a 0-5 record into Wednesday's meeting with the Seahawks, is completing a five-game road swing. The Rams' lone home game this season was a 66-52 loss against Norfolk State in the season opener.
  4. UNCW Coach Karen Barefoot is very familiar with the Rams, posting a 3-4 record against the Rams in her head coaching career.
  5. The Seahawks and the Rams were CAA rivals from 1995-96 to 2011-12, facing each other 35 times during that time. The teams split the regular season series nine times and faced each other in the CAA Tournament on three occasions.
Up Next: The Seahawks play their final game before taking their fall semester exams on Sunday, Dec. 3, when N.C. Central comes to Wilmington for a 2 p.m. tilt.
