William & Mary Invitational Final Round Results/Stats
WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – Junior
Lyberty Anderson finished in a tie for 11th place as UNCW earned fifth place at the William & Mary Invitational following the final round at the Kingsmill Resort on Monday afternoon.
Seton Hall used a 298 team score in the final round to earn the team title, beating Georgetown by five strokes. The Hoyas finished with a 906 team score while UNCG moved up to third place. Â Â
"Our play during this first tournament was consistent over the three rounds," Coach
Cindy Ho said. "There were stretches of very strong golf, good execution and decision making. We played the par 5's much better today, which was a big improvement from yesterday when we didn't take advantage of those chances."
Led by Anderson, the Seahawks carded a 307 team score in the final round. Anderson finished the tournament with a three-round score of 227 after shooting a 79 (+7) in the final round.
Freshman
My Nguyen posted a 3-over par round to complete the tournament in a tie for 16th place with a score of 229 (+13). Sophomore
Ellinoora Moisio posted a 77 score in the final round, earning a share of 21st place after ending the tournament with a 232 score.
Junior
Alaina Yeatts finished in a tie for 31st place after shooting a 5-over par round to finish the tournament while junior
Kayla Thompson followed in 41st place.
"We are a fairly young team with no seniors," Coach Ho said. "I know we will continue to improve and get better mentally as the season continues."
Up Next for the Seahawks: UNCW will be idle until Friday, Sept. 23, when the Seahawks open play at the Furman Lady Paladin Invitational. Â
