Spence Takes Second In Backstroke

COLUMBIA, South Carolina – Tad Spence finished second in the 100 Backstroke to lead UNCW on the second day of the South Carolina Quad Meet at the Carolina Natatorium.

Spence, a junior, touched the wall in a time of 50.98. Also adding a second-place finish for UNCW was Allen Crosby, who scored 332.63 points in taking second in the 3-meter dive.

Will Ryan, meanwhile, took third in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:04.91.

On the women's side, Kyra Schemmel finished sixth in the 400 IM and Alexa Namestnik was eighth in the 1650 Free.

The Seahawks return to action on Jan. 30 when they host Davidson at 1 p.m.
