UNCW also played six straight contests away from home to begin the 2011 campaign.

Seahawks Picked to Finish Fifth in CAA; Trio Recognized as Part of Preseason All-CAA Team

• The Seahawks were picked to finish fifth in the Colonial Athletic Association standings in a vote of the league's head coaches. Northeastern University was selected as the preseason favorite to repeat as the CAA champion.
• In addition, a trio of UNCW players - seniors Katrina Guillou, Morgan Leyble and Stephanie Bronson - were listed among the players recognized on the Preseason All-CAA Team. Guillou earned a spot on the team while Leyble and Bronson were honorable mention picks.
• A second team All-CAA pick last year, Guillou was the sixth-leading scorer in the conference after recording 18 points. She ranked fourth in the CAA with eight goals while starting all 18 matches. As a sophomore, she earned first team all-league notice after scoring 10 goals with six assists.
• Meanwhile, Leyble received third team All-CAA accolades last year while starting 17 of 18 matches. She tallied a goal in the Seahawks' 3-2 overtime victory over Wake Forest and posted an assist in a victory over Charlotte. A three-year starter for Coach Paul Cairney, Leyble was named to the All-CAA second team as a sophomore.
• A two-time all-conference selection, Bronson returns to the field after missing all of last year. She was a first team All-CAA honoree after scoring five goals with two assists during the 2013 season. In addition, she received a spot on the 2012 All-CAA third team.

Up Next for the Seahawks ...

• The Seahawks continue their six-match road trip with two more non-conference matches next week. UNCW will visit former Colonial Athletic Association rival Old Dominion on Thursday, Aug. 27 before traveling to Clemson on Sunday, Aug. 30.
