HEMPSTEAD, New York – Heading into its Colonial Athletic Association semifinal game against William & Mary, the UNCW women's soccer team has two goals – to avenge one of the Seahawks' conference losses from the regular season and to reach the CAA title game for the first time since 2012.
The third-seeded Seahawks, who have won five of their last six games, will face the second-seeded Tribe in the first semifinal game at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. In the second semifinal, top-seeded Hofstra faces fourth-seeded James Madison at approximately 7 p.m.

Currently 14-5-1 on the season, the Seahawks have won four consecutive games after a 4-0 victory over Delaware in the CAA quarterfinals on Sunday afternoon. UNCW, which has outscored its opponents by a 19-0 margin during the win streak, has not lost since suffering a 1-0 defeat against William & Mary on Oct. 9 in Williamsburg.
Meanwhile, William & Mary has been idle since finishing the regular season with a 2-0 victory over Elon on Oct. 27. The Tribe, which finished in a tie for first place with Hofstra in the CAA standings, brings a 13-3-2 record into the semifinals along with an eight-game unbeaten streak.
UNCW and William & Mary will meet for the 24th time in a series the Tribe leads by a 22-1-0 margin. The Tribe has won the last two meetings, including the 1-0 decision on Oct. 9. The Seahawks' lone win in the series came on Oct. 20, 2013 with a 3-0 triumph in Williamsburg.
The semifinal winners advance to the CAA Championship Game on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on the American Sports Network.
