WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Thao My Nguyen of Hanoi, Vietnam has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend UNCW and play women's golf for the Seahawks, it has been announced by Coach Cindy Ho.

"I am very excited to welcome Thao My to the Seahawk family and look forward to her representing UNCW," Ho said. "She is a talented athlete and will help our program continue to rise nationally."

A two-time champion at the Vietnam National Women's Amateur Championship, Nguyen was also a member of the Vietnam National Team for the 2014 Ichoen Asian Games and 2015 South East Asia Games.

Nguyen has also won the 2015 Faldo Series Asia Vietnam Junior Championship in addition to claiming the title at the Colin Montgomerie Junior Challenge in each of the last two years. She finished in a tie for 10th place at the 2015 Optimist International Junior Championship and was ninth at the 2015 Nick Faldo Grand Final Asia Championships.
