AquaHawks Head To Blacksburg To Close out Dual Meet Action

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – There's no rest for the weary as the AquaHawks visit Blacksburg, Va., for meets with ACC members Georgia Tech, Miami and host Virginia Tech on Saturday at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.

The Seahawks dropped a pair of dual meets last weekend at nationally-ranked Wingate and look to get back in the win column before closing out their dual meet season next weekend with Senior Day.

At Wingate, seniors Valtteri Halonen and Hannah Stephenson swept the 200 Backstroke for the Seahawks. The men's team trailed in the 400 Free Relay, the final event of the meet and needed a 1-2 finish to win the meet. Unfortunately, UNCW took first behind the relay of Adam Salzman, Connor Williams, Alex Sabau and Alex Labonge, but the Bulldogs edged UNCW's second relay for second place and secure the win.

The Seahawks will be competing against Virginia Tech for the third straight season, Georgia Tech for the first time since 2010-11 and it will be the program's first meet against Miami.
