WILMINGTON, N.C. – The UNC Wilmington men's tennis team breezed past George Mason, 7-0, in the squad's final Colonial Athletic Association match of the regular season Friday afternoon at the varsity courts.
The Seahawks claimed their fourth victory in a row and their third consecutive shutout to improve to 13-7 overall and 4-1 in the CAA.
Coach Rodrigo Gili's team won all three doubles contests before sweeping through the singles matches without losing a set. Junior Dennis Myers, playing in No. 2 singles, won all 12 games on the way to a 6-0, 6-0 romp against the Patriots' Jordan Lipstock.
The Seahawks close out the regular season with their final home contest, Wednesday, April 12, against in-state rival UNC Greensboro at 2 p.m.
