Faieta Leads Seahawks in Canada

ONTARIO, Canada – Sophomore Alexis Faieta fashioned a share of 15th place as the UNCW women's golf team closed out play at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Beacon Hall Golf Course.

Faieta and senior Minouche Rooijmans tied for the team lead with six birdies over the two-day, 54-hole tournament that saw the Seahawks finish ninth of 11 teams with a 312-310-309=931 scorecard.

Virginia earned the team title, 17 strokes ahead of Auburn while the Cavaliers' Jaclyn LaHa and Tigers' Anna Davis both finished five-under-par in the tournament.

UNCW resumes its season at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational in Asheboro, N.C. from Sept. 28-29.
