Landfall Tradition Returns on Friday

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Many of the nation's top women's collegiate teams will take the course at the Country Club of Landfall's neatly manicured Pete Dye layout, featuring new greens, this weekend for the 24th annual Landfall Tradition.

The three-day event will tee off from Oct. 23-25 with early Friday and Saturday tee times at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's final round will feature an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start. The tournament will be contested on a Par-72, 6,223-yard rolling layout nestled along the Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach.

Admission and parking are free and spectators should use the Eastwood Road entrance to Landfall. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.

The Seahawk team will begin teeing off at 9:15 a.m. on Friday from Hole No. 1. Individuals Minouche Rooijmans (Hole No. 1) and Eden Lohrbach (Hole No. 10) will tee off at 10 a.m. UNCW tee times for Saturday and Sunday will be available on Clippd prior to the start of those rounds.

This year's field features seven of the country's top 25 ranked teams (No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 3 Auburn, No. 5 South Carolina, No. 10 Duke, No. 20 Florida State, No. 21 Alabama and No. 25 Kentucky) according to the latest Clippd rankings.

The 18-team field is shored up by Clemson, East Carolina, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, South Florida, SMU and the host Seahawks.

The defending champion Tar Heels will look to be the fifth school to go back-to-back at Landfall, along with New Mexico (2003-04), Wake Forest (2007-08), Duke (2017-18) and South Carolina (2019, 2021).

The Blue Devils are in search of their sixth Landfall Tradition title after winning the tournament in 2009, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2023. Duke's five championships represent the most in the Tradition's over-two-decade history.

Other previous champions in this year's field include the Crimson Tide (2013), Demon Deacons (2007, 2008, 2014), Gamecocks (2016, 2019) and Seminoles (2024). All participants have competed in the Landfall Tradition previously.

This will be the fifth tournament the Seahawks have played in this year after making appearances in the Canadian Collegiate, Tot Hill Farm Invitational and Haskins Women's Intercollegiate earlier this fall. UNCW opened its 2026-27 season with a win at the Golfweek Fall Challenge.

UNCW (No. 69) is the second-highest Coastal Athletic Association team in the latest Clippd rankings behind Charleston (No. 51).

The Seahawks are the lone school to compete in every Landfall Tradition since its inception in 2002.
