Seahawks Post Multiple Top-10 Marks at Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. – UNCW men's and women's outdoor track and field turned in several strong performances at the Duke Twilight as the Seahawks continued their final tune-up before the CAA Championship.
 
UNCW highlighted the meet with a strong showing in the men's 4x400-meter relay, as the team clocked a time of 3:10.37 to finish fifth overall, just over two seconds off its program record set earlier this season.
 
Cameron Wright led the Seahawks with a runner-up finish in the 110-meter hurdles, posting a time of 13.95 to move to No. 4 in program history. Ivan Poag added a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 49-11.
 
On the women's side, Myla Watson placed fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 5-7 3/4. Carly Gordinier tied for 10th in the pole vault at 12-9 1/2, matching Bridget Sachs of Holy Cross.
 
Head coach Jeff Klaves said, "We are continuing to do the right things to prepare for the CAA Championships next week."
 
The Seahawks return to action at the CAA Championships, hosted by Elon, May 15-16.
