Baseball Fails To Complete CAA Sweep

Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina A&T scored seven unanswered runs over the final eight innings to knock off UNCW, 7-2, in the Coastal Athletic Association series finale on Sunday at World War Memorial Stadium.

The Aggies ran their record to 13-36 overall and 4-23 in the CAA. The Seahawks, meanwhile, dropped to 28-22 and 16-11.

After UNCW scored a pair of unearned runs in the top of the first, the Aggies answered with single runs in the first and second innings. NCAT broke the tie with two runs in the sixth for a 4-2 lead.

The Seahawks managed just five hits on the afternoon.

Connor Marshburn (4-5) took the loss for the Seahawks while Angel Ortiz (1-4) earned the win.

The Seahawks host nationally-ranked North Carolina on May 12 at 6 p.m.
