WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW men's tennis secured the top seed in the Coastal Athletic Association tournament, the conference announced Monday afternoon. The Seahawks will look to win their sixth consecutive CAA title.
This marks the fourth consecutive year the Seahawks have been seeded No. 1 in the championship.
UNCW (10-11, 2-0 CAA) enters the postseason on a two-match losing streak, falling 4-3 at No. 60 Liberty on April 11 and 4-1 at No. 74 Tulsa on April 12.
Under head coach Mait DuBois, UNCW has won more CAA titles than the rest of the conference combined.
Four Seahawks have been recognized by the conference this season: Oscar Baumgartner, Brady Hussey, Alex de Gabriele, and Lukas Steffen, who has earned two honors.
The Seahawks will begin their title defense in the semifinals at the Mackesy Tennis Center in Williamsburg, Va., on Saturday, April 18, at 9 a.m. against the winner of Friday's quarterfinal between No. 4 Charleston and No. 5 Drexel.
