22 Runs Later, UNCW Clinches Series

Box Score WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW pushed across a season-high 22 runs on 19 hits, also a season-high, as the Seahawks clinched their series with William & Mary with a 22-1 win on Saturday at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks rose to 18-8 overall and 7-1 in the league while the Tribe dropped to 11-14 and 3-5. The win was UNCW Head Coach Randy Hood's 200th of his career.
UNCW scored in all but one inning and batted around three times on the afternoon.

Mason Hughes and Kevin Jones fueled the lineup, both collecting two hits and driving in four. Jones launched his third homer of the season two batters into the game. Danny O'BrIen finished with two hits, knocked in two, and scored four runs.

Cooper Allen (5-0) allowed one run on one hit, walked two, and struck out nine in six innings of work.

Luke Calveric (0-3) lasted 1.1 innings, surrendering eight runs.

Anthony Greco's pinch-hit solo homer in the sixth was all for the Tribe.

UNCW looks to sweep the series on Sunday with a 2 p.m. start.
