Swimming & Diving Championships Open Wednesday

HAMPTON, Va. – UNCW returns to Hampton looking to replicate what it has done the last three years and that is sweep the Coastal Athletic Association championships.

While the women have won a program record three-straight, the Seahawk men enter the meet looking to extend their streak to five.

Returning for the Seahawks is senior Cameron Snowden, who is the two-time defending champion and CAA all-time record holder in the 100 fly and the reigning champ in the 50 free. Maeren McGonigal was chosen as the 2025 Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after sweeping the 100 and 200 back as well as the 200 IM. Gil Shaw has the second-fastest times in the league in the 100 and 200 breast.

Back to lead the Seahawks is junior William Carrico, who was named the 2025 Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after winning the 200 breast and 500 free and setting a new conference record in claiming the 400 IM. Jack VanHowe is the defending champ in 100 back and three-time CAA Diver of the Year Ethan Badrian returns after sweeping both boards a year ago.

The meet opens with the men's 1-meter board preliminaries at 11 a.m. followed by a pair of relays at the 6 p.m. evening session.

Full coverage of the championship will be streamed on FloCollege.com.
