WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW seniors William Carrico and Etan Ferguson have been recognized by the Coastal Athletic Association as swimmer and diver of the week, respectively, for their efforts against nationally-ranked NC State.

For Carrico, it marks the third time this season he's been honored. The senior from Durham, N.H., continued his strong early-season form, winning the 200 Backstroke and 400 IM with times of 1:44.04 and 3:50.23, respectively, against the Wolfpack. Carrico also swam the second leg of the winning 200 Medley Relay (1:27.36), which is undefeated through three meets. His time in the 200 Back is 49th nationally while his 400 IM is 12th.

Ferguson, meanwhile, placed second on the 3-meter board and fourth on the 1-meter at the Seahawk Diving Invitational. On the 3-meter, he totaled a career-best 312.70 points and added a season-high 274.55 on the 1-meter.

The Seahawks return to the pool Oct. 30-31 against visiting Gardner-Webb in their final home meet of the season.
