WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Seahawks earned two singles victories at the Hall of Fame Invite, hosted by William & Mary, with Sophia Catino and Alicia Eberwein each picking up a singles win.

"Tough weekend of matches but felt we made some improvements from the last event", said head coach Chris Bizot. "It was also a great experience to be part of the ITA Women's Tennis Hall of Fame ceremony."

Eberwein opened the tournament with a straight-set victory over William & Mary's Julia Viesi Santoro Pereira, winning 6-3, 6-2. Catino also secured a win against Viesi Santoro Pereira on Sunday, battling back after dropping the opening set to claim a 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 victory.

In doubles play, UNCW's two teams faced William & Mary tandems in the opening round but were unable to secure a victory in doubles action.

The Seahawks will continue their fall schedule at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships, scheduled for Oct. 15-20 in Columbia, S.C.
