WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW women's basketball alumna Evan Miller, the program's all-time leader with 136 games played, signed a professional contract with A.D. Sanjoanense in Sao João, Portugal.
"I'm super excited to continue my basketball journey in Portugal and will be forever thankful to everyone who helped me get to this point," Miller said.
Miller, a Charlotte, North Carolina native, averaged 8.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and one assist in 24.2 minutes per game for the Seahawks as a graduate student during the 2024-25 season. During the 2024-25 campaign, A.D. Sanjoanense finished 10th in Liga Feminina, the premier women's basketball league in Portugal.
Miller scored in double figures 15 times during her graduate season and made 42 3-pointers, the second most on the team. She scored 971 points in five seasons with UNCW and finished fourth in program history with 3,378 minutes played. Miller also ended her career with 124 made 3-pointers, the seventh most in team history.
"Evan took the tough route to get to this point. She could have left when I got the job, but she stayed and EARNED this opportunity," head coach Nicole Woods said. "Words can't express how proud and happy I am for her. We will miss her and wish her nothing but the best. Thank you for all you did for our program!"
