Men's Tennis Adds Three For 2025-26 Season

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW men's tennis has announced the additions of Andrew Hayduke II, Brady Hussey and Tomas Marin, who join Harry Abel as the newcomers for the 2025-26 season.

We are very excited about our incoming class," head coach Mait DuBois said. "Two transfer students who were voted all-conference during their freshman campaigns, with two extremely strong incoming freshmen. All of them display the character and work ethic that we look for and are bringing their passion for Seahawk Tennis to UNCW."

Hayduke II , a 6-foot-1 right-handed player from Rancho Mirage, California, joins the Seahawks after a terrific freshman season at the University of North Dakota.

Hayduke II currently has a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 12.38. He was named an all-conference selection for The Summit League after an 11-3 record in singles, including a 2-0 mark in conference play.

He recently defeated the top singles player from Indiana University in a UTR summer event. Hayduke was a four-star recruit and the 70th-best recruit in the nation in high school.

"Andrew is coming to us after a very successful freshman year at North Dakota, where he was an all-conference standout as a freshman. What really came across in the recruiting process was his love of competing and his desire to improve. He displays the kind of character and desire that I know will bring him a lot of success once he is able to join our environment. He is also an exceptional student and is coming in to study Pre-Med."

Hussey, a 6-foot-3 right-handed player from Edgewood, Kentucky, arrives in Wilmington after spending his freshman campaign at the University of Dayton.

He was named an all-conference selection in the Atlantic 10 after going 17-9 in singles and 20-11 in doubles during his rookie season.

In high school, Hussey was a talented student-athlete, winning a pair of team state championships at Covington Catholic. On the individual side, he finished as a state semifinalist twice and a state finalist once. He was ranked 37th in the nation by tennisrecruiting.net.

Hussey received NCAA Division I offers in basketball and tennis during his high school career. His brother, Austin, finished his career at UNCW before turning pro.

"You are not going to find a better athletic background than what Brady is coming in with. He comes from an extremely successful tennis family. Brady is the younger brother of former UNCW No. 1 player Austin Hussey, and his mother played professionally after a Hall of Fame career at the University of Cincinnati.  Brady was a two-sport athlete in high school, having a lot of success in basketball as well as tennis.  He was ranked among the nation's best juniors while balancing basketball and tennis. We are excited to see him 100% focused on his tennis now and think his future is extremely bright. He is coming in with some very high ambitions and the credentials to support it."

Marin, a native of Bogotá, Colombia, is an incoming freshman with a Universal Tennis Rating of 12.20. He recently graduated from Laurel Springs Online School.

Marin is ranked 430th in the ITF World Juniors and has defeated four top-100 players, including wins over one top-10 player and three top-50 players on the circuit. He captured three ITF doubles titles and was a finalist at three more events.

"As we were recruiting Tomas, several coaches spoke about his talent and potential. This is further displayed by him having numerous wins over some of the best juniors in the world. We have a tradition of exceptional Colombian players, including current assistant coach Gabriel Hurtado and former UNCW No. 1, Andres Torres. He is an exceptional ball striker and will be starting college with a number of tools in place that will help him be successful at the highest levels.  We are very excited to have Tomas join us."

The three newest Seahawks join Abel, who signed and was announced in the fall during the early period.
