Three Seahawks Honored By CAA

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW swimmers Cameron Snowden, Wilson Tuttle and diver Tyler Hoard were honored by the Coastal Athletic Association on Tuesday for their efforts in leading the Seahawks to a 4-0 record last weekend.

Snowden and Tuttle were recognized as the women's and men's swimmers of the week, respectively, and Hoard was the CAA's men's diver of the week.

Snowden, a senior, helped the Seahawks to a sweep of Queens and William & Mary, the latter being a 149-144 win as UNCW won the 200 Free Relay in the final event of the meet. She added wins for the Seahawk women in the 50 Free (22.97) and 100 Fly (52.91) and also swam on the meet-clinching 200 Free Relay and the second-place 200 Medley Relay. Both of Snowden's times in the individual races are the top times in the CAA.

Against W&M and Queens, Tuttle took gold in the 1000 (9:13.19) and 500 Free (4:30.67). His time in the 1000 is the fastest in the league this season.

Hoard reached the podium twice in UNCW's meet against Queens. The junior captured the 1-meter competition with an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 316.95 and picked up a third-place finish on the 3-meter board with a score of 299.63.

The Seahawks wrap up their fall semester on Nov. 20-23 with the swim programs competing at the Fall Frenzy Invitational in Charlotte, N.C., and the divers returning to the Patriot Invitational in Fairfax, Va.
