WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW's Skylar Stockton and Emily Winstead have earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Mid-Atlantic Region Third-Team honors as announced by the organization on Saturday afternoon.
It is the second NFCA All-Region honor of Winstead's career after earning a nod in 2022. Stockton is a first-time All-Region recipient and was also a 2024 All-Coastal Athletic Association First-Teamer.
Winstead entered the NCAA Regionals with a 13-7 record and a 1.73 ERA across 137.2 innings pitched. The junior right-hander has struck out 141 batters and became the third Seahawk in program history to surpass 400 career strikeouts in the CAA Championship Finals vs. Campbell last weekend.
Stockton, a graduate student, has hit .355 with a career-high four home runs and 23 RBI along with being one of the national leaders and school record holders with 20 hit-by-pitches following the Seahawks' run to the 2024 CAA title last weekend. The experienced outfielder has also flashed the leather numerous times this season, including several highlight-worthy catches in UNCW's CAA title run last season.
UNCW has had 11 All-Region selections and at least one in the last four seasons.
