Seahawks Finish Second in 2024 NGI

MARICOPA, Arizona – The UNCW women's golf team finished the 2024 National Golf Invitational in second place on Sunday at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.

The Seahawks (289-294-297=880) entered the third round in first, but Rutgers fashioned a 293 final round score to edge UNCW by three strokes.

UNCW's Victoria Levy fired a two-under par 70 in the third round to conclude the three-day postseason invitational with a share of first along with Jacksonville's Jinger Heath. Heath won the first playoff hole to claim individual medalist honors.

Freshman Minouche Rooijmans closed out play in sixth place with a 70-72-77=219 scorecard.

The Seahawks made their first appearance in the NGI sponsored by Golfweek in the 10-team field that included the Scarlet Knights, Santa Clara, Arkansas State, Florida Atlantic, Mercer, Jacksonville State, Chattanooga, USC Upstate and Austin Peay State.
