Women's Basketball Signs CAA Sixth Player of the Year

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW women's basketball Head Coach Nicole Woods has added reigning Coastal Athletic Association Sixth Player of the Year Jania Hall to the program for the 2024-25 campaign.

A durable 5-8 point guard, Hall has appeared in 111 career games, including 42 starts, at Monmouth from 2020-24. She has scored more than 750 points and dished out nearly 200 assists across her four-year career.

A key contributor for Monmouth over the previous two seasons, Hall helped the Hawks to the 2023 Coastal Athletic Association Championship and NCAA appearance as a junior and averaged a career-high 9.2 points last season en route to Monmouth's first 20-win campaign in 13 years.

"Jania and I connected in the first phone call. We were direct and saw things from the same perspective," said Woods. "We needed a floor general to direct our program on the court with some experience. We believe Jania is the one. I can't wait to get her to Seahawk Nation!"

Hall, the fifth transfer to descend into the Port City this spring, achieved double figures scoring 16 times in 2023-24 highlighted by a career-high 21 points in a narrow win at North Carolina A&T in mid-February. She also poured in 15 and 16-point efforts during Monmouth's WNIT run at Buffalo and Duquesne, respectively, last month.

A championship-caliber guard, Hall delivered 14 points off the bench in the Hawks 2023 CAA Championship Game victory over Towson.

Hall scored over 1,000 ppg and averaged 17.0 as a prep standout at St. Vincent Pallotti. She earned All-Conference honors as both a sophomore and junior and was twice named to the US Junior Nationals All-Star Team while leading her squad to two championships.

Hall is joined by fellow transfers Isis Fitch (Bradley), Kate Hollifield (Belmont), Torin Rogers (Richmond) and Alexandra Zelaya (North Carolina) along with incoming freshmen Tia Dobson, Finley Lohan, Ofir Parpara and Angelina Pelayo as Seahawk newcomers in 2024-25.
