Joksimovic Named CAA Player of the Week

Key win versus Campbell led to come-from-behind win

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW junior Stela Joksimovic was named Women's Tennis Player of the Week by the Coastal Athletic Association on Tuesday following a key win against Campbell.

Joksimovic helped UNCW post a 4-3 victory over Campbell last Saturday by rallying for a three-set win at No. 2 singles. After taking the opening set, 6-2, against the Camels' Lily Chitambar, the junior dropped the second set, 6-4, and was trailing 5-1 in the third. Joksimovic fought off several match points to capture the final set, 7-6, in a 7-5 tiebreaker as UNCW battled back from a 3-1 deficit in the match.

The Seahawks move onto the CAA tournament this week as the six-seed and will face Stony Brook on Apr. 25 at 2 p.m. in Elon, N.C.
