SOUTHPORT, North Carolina – The UNCW women's golf team, aided by strong performances by Malu Brinker and Nicole Adam, sits in first place through Friday's First Round of the 2024 Coastal Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship at St. James.
The Seahawks (308) will carry a one-stroke lead over two-time defending league champion Charleston into the second round on Saturday. Brinker (74) is tied for first on the player leaderboard with Delaware's Alisa Khokhlova while Adam (76) is locked into a five-way tie for fourth place.
Former All-CAA performers Mallory Fobes and Victoria Levy hold a share of 14th place to round out the Seahawks in the top 20 of the 10-team, 50-player field.
Brinker is one of five golfers to record four birdies while Adam achieved par or better on 15 holes.
The second round resumes on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.The Seahawks will tee off once again at 9:20 a.m.
