Baseball Preview: Coastal Carolina

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Seahawks kick off an eight-game homestand on Tuesday when they host nationally-ranked Coastal Carolina at 6 p.m.

Both programs are coming off road-series wins in conference with the Chanticleers winning their series at UL Monroe while the Seahawks swept North Carolina A&T in Greensboro.

The Seahawks are starting redshirt junior Ryan Calvert while the Chants counter with freshman Oliver Ellison.

Tanner Thach leads the Seahawks with 15 home runs and is tied for second nationally with the total.

Following Tuesday's game, the Seahawks return to conference play when they host the College of Charleston for three games beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.

UNCW welcomes back the 2004 Colonial Athletic Association championship team this weekend. The 2004 Seahawks won the program's first conference tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Regionals for a second straight season.
