SERIES INFO
Tuesday night will be the 70th meeting in men's basketball between UNCW and ECU in a series that dates back more than 60 years. The Seahawks have a 38-31 advantage in the long series, including 34 games decided by single digits and 11 contests that ended within three points.

The home team has claimed the last eight meetings between the two rivals. The Seahawks seek their first road win in the series since Dec. 1, 2013.

LAST TIME OUT
UNCW went 2-1 in the inaugural Live Oak Bank Holiday Classic with wins vs. Sam Houston, in which they limited the Bearkats to 30.4 percent shooting, the fourth lowest mark in the Takayo Siddle era, as well as Saturday's finale vs. App State where the Seahawks held the Mountaineers to 11.8 percent from three-point range.

Guard Donovan Newby reached double figures in all three MTE contests last week and was one of five Seahawks to average at least eight points across the entire tournament.

SCOUTING THE PIRATES
The Pirates are off to their best start since 2020-21 and look to improve to 8-1 for the first time since the 2008-09 season.

The ECU quartet of RJ Felton, Cam Hayes, Jordan Riley and C.J. Walker are averaging a combined 62.5 ppg through the first month of the season.

Tuesday will be the second straight CAA opponent the Pirates will face after Friday's 93-69 win vs. North Carolina A&T.

ON THE DOCKET
The Seahawks return to Trask Coliseum on Saturday to play Marshall at 2 p.m. The game will air on Fox Wilmington as well as FloCollege.
