Men's Basketball Games To Be Shown Locally On WECT

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Local NBC affiliate WECT–TV and UNCW are set to broadcast six men's basketball games on the station's channels in February and early March.

The schedule kicks off with the February 3rd game against Coastal Athletic Association member Campbell, which will be shown on the main WECT channel.

The next five games will move over to the station's secondary channel, Bounce (6.2), beginning with Drexel on February 8th.

These games will also be streamed on FloHoops.tv, the official streaming partner of the CAA.

"This is an exciting opportunity to grow our brand," said Director of Athletics Michael Oblinger. "One of the nuances of our FloSports agreement is to provide local linear opportunities and we are going to take full advantage of it. I am excited for our fans that live outside Wilmington and now can watch our teams compete!"

"We're excited to be partnering with UNCW basketball to bring these games to the viewers in the Cape Fear region and make Seahawks Basketball accessible to fans over the air.  This is a renewal of a partnership that began 64 years ago, and we look forward to continuing and growing it," said WECT Vice President and General Manager Mark Mendenhall.
