JACKSONVILLE, Florida, – Highly-decorated UNCW women's track and field jumper
Courtney Lines finished 21
st overall in the long jump in the NCAA Division I Outdoor T&F East Preliminary Round on Thursday (May 25) at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Lines, from nearby Leland, N.C., registered marks of 19-9.50, 19-0 and 18-3.75 in her three jumps against to wind up 21
st in the field of 48 jumpers. Florida's Claire Bryant won the competition at 21-7.25.

Courtney Lines is one of the nation's best long jumpers," said
Jeff Klaves, UNCW's fourth-year head coach. "Today, she showed improvement from her NCAA East performance a year ago, but is certainty leaving wanting more. She will keep building on this experience and we look forward to seeing her back in this position again to have a chance to qualify for the NCAA Finals.
"We're so proud of her accomplishments this year. She was the CAA indoor champion, CAA outdoor champion and a USA indoor qualifier in the long jump while improving her school records in the process."

Lines improved on last year's standing when she finished 30
th with a mark of 19-1.25.

Lines is part of a six-member contingent – the most in 13 years – that traveled to the Sunshine State for the NCAA meet.

On Friday, sophomore
Donovan Lara will compete in the high jump at 2:30 p.m. and senior
Josh Parks is scheduled to race in the 110m Hurdle quarterfinals at 6:15 p.m.
