DeBarber, Higgins Start Raleigh Relays Appearance

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Javelin specialists Ryan DeBarber and Miles Higgins opened UNCW's appearance in the Raleigh Relays on Thursday at NC State's Paul Derr Track & Field Facility.

DeBarber, a sophomore from Enfield, Conn., finished 10^th in the field of 42 competitors. He posted a mark of 61.50m (201-9) on his second attempt. Higgins, a freshman from Ligonier, Pa, wound up 16^th after a throw of 58.15m (190-9) on the first of three throws.

Action continues on Friday for UNCW when 12 other team members make the 80-mile trip to compete in the high jump, triple jump, 110 hurdles, 100 meters and 400 meters.
