Women's Tennis Adds Borcich For Spring

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW head women's tennis coach Hans Olsen has announced the addition of Alex Borcich, a four-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net, to the program for the upcoming spring season.

"We are thrilled for Alex to join the Seahawk women's tennis family," said Olsen. "We had the opportunity to watch Alex compete at the highest level and are very impressed with her character on and off the court, as well as her competitive spirit. Alex made great connections with our team on her visit to UNCW and we welcome her positive energy. She also brings a lot of skills in both singles and doubles, and we can't wait to see her in action this spring. Welcome, Alex!"

Borcich, who hails from Denver, N.C., most recently represented North Carolina in the Southern Cup during the 2021 and 2022 tournaments and competed for the Southern Section against Florida in 2022.

Nationally, Borcich competed in both the Hard and Clay Court Championships at the 14s, 16s, and 18s levels. She also played in the National Doubles Championships in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The Seahawks, who made a run to the Coastal Athletic Association finals in 2023, open their season on Feb. 1, when they host Mount Olive.
