UNCW's Isley Rallies To Win J.T. Poston Invitational

SAPPHIRE, N.C. – On the strength of four birdies over the final seven holes, UNCW's Walker Isley rallied to win the J.T. Poston Invitational by two strokes on Tuesday at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.

Coastal Carolina held off hard-charging Western Carolina in the third and final round to take the tournament title by two strokes. The Seahawks finished fifth overall.

For Isley, it was his second career tournament title and his fifth top-five finish. He bogeyed hole 11 to move to four-over for the round but birdied three of the next four holes to get back to one over. He finished the round at even-par with a birdie on the 18th hole.

Isley tied his career low round of 209, set last season at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Ariz.

Teammate Patrick Sparks finished tied for 14th at two-over for the tournament.

Next up for the Seahawks is the Wolfpack Intercollegiate on Oct. 15-16 in Raleigh, N.C.
