Seahawks Conclude First Day At Two Tennis Venues

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's tennis team went unbeaten in singles at the Jersey Mike's Seahawk Fall Invitational and had the doubles tandem of Bekhzod Rasamatov and Reece Falck advance to the B Doubles final at Duke's Bonk Invite on Friday.
 
The Seahawks, making their fall debut at two different sites, went 1-3 in singles and 2-1 in doubles play in the Duke event being staged at the Cary Tennis Center. UNCW also fashioned a clean 5-0 mark in singles and 2-2 doubles ledger at the Jersey Mike's event at Porters Neck Country Club.
 
Rasamatov and Falck topped Yale's Walker Oberg and Luke Neal, 7-6 (2), in the quarterfinals of the B Doubles bracket before trimming Virginia Tech's Ryan Morgan and Manuel Goncalves, 6-3, to reach the finals. Rasamatov and Falck will face Tech's Alvaro Saez-Royula Ariza and Jordan Chrysostom in the B Doubles championship match Sunday at 9 a.m.
 
The Seahawks are entered into four tournaments in the fall season. Coach Mait DuBois and his club captured its eighth CAA crown last spring with a youth-laden team anchored by CAA Rookie-of-the-Year Harold Huens.
 
The Jersey Mike's Seahawk Fall Invitational continues on Saturday at 9 a.m. It serves as a fundraiser for the UNCW men's tennis program.
 
The Duke Bonk Invite, featuring the top players from several teams, also continues early Saturday at the Cary Tennis Center.
