Sashing Event Honors Graduating Seniors

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW's 44 graduating student-athletes were honored for their academic accomplishments on Thursday evening in the Fisher Student Center's Lumina Theater during the athletic department's annual "Senior Sashing" ceremony.

In its 10th year, the tradition featured head coaches from UNCW's intercollegiate teams presenting their student-athletes with a sash or decorative ribbon inscribed "Student-Athlete" to wear during this weekend's commencement ceremonies at Trask Coliseum.

The student-athletes will be among the more than 2,079 undergraduates, 645 master's and 26 doctoral students receiving degrees in four different ceremonies at Trask Coliseum.
