DURHAM, North Carolina – Strong efforts by a pair of freshmen and a solid performance by veteran pole vaulter
Elise Hall highlighted UNCWs results on Friday in the Duke Invitational at Morris Williams Stadium.

"We continue to get a total team effort as we look to improve our rankings in the conference, the region and ultimately on the national level," said third-year UNCW head coach
Jeff Klaves. "We want to put ourselves in a position to qualify for the NCAA championships in May."

Owen Marish (Collingswood, N.J.) and
Taylor Rand (Weddington, N.C.) turned in solid performances on Friday. Marish was the team's top finisher in the Men's 1,500 Meters with a time of 4:10.17. Rand clocked a 18:48.15 time in the Women's 5,000 Meters. "There's a bright future ahead for our young squad," added Klaves.

Hall cleared 11-7.75 in the Women's Pole Vault, tying the Raleigh product for seventh on the school's all-time list.
