Parks Third, Fourth At Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – Junior Josh Parks placed third in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles and fourth in the Men's 110 Meter Hurdles to highlight UNCW's finishes on Saturday in the Virginia T&F Challenge at Lannigan Field.
 
Parks, from Kannapolis, N.C., clocked a 52.54 time in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles and 13.97 in the Men's 110 Meter Hurdles. The time in the 100 Meter Hurdles was just off his school-record time of 13.95 set on Mar. 26 the Raleigh Relays.
 
On the women's side, senior Brynn Sheffield of Apex, N.C., ted for ninth best all-time on the UNCW list in the Women's 200 Meters with a 24.84 time – a season best. Freshman sprinter Nasiah Ferguson of Hendersonville, N.C., also covered the Women's 200 Meters in 24.96 for a season-best time in the event.
 
In their eighth appearance of the spring, the Seahawks competed against several schools, including Colonial Athletic Association rivals Towson and William & Mary.
 
The Seahawks begin final preparations for the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Track & Field Championships, which will take place on May 6-7 at the Solomon Track and Field Complex in Dedham, Mass, near Boston.
