GREENVILLE, North Carolina –The UNCW track and field teams racked up five first-place finishes in the Bill Carson Invitational on Friday and Saturday at East Carolina's Minges Family Field at the Bate Foundation Track and Field Facility.
Â
The Seahawks were joined by the host Pirates, The Citadel, Virginia Tech, Mount Olive and UNC Pembroke in the two-day meet.
Â
"We're building momentum," said
Jeff Klaves, UNCW's third-year head coach. "Success happens in practice well before the meet and this team is locked in to what it takes to be successful.
Â
"We're excited about the PR's, season bests and new top-10 marks because it gives us that quick opportunity to celebrate the mini-victories of track and field. Our main focus is still on what's next as we keep pushing the mark to the CAA and NCAA meets."

th on the all-time chart, moving ahead of Kris Jones.
Â
