UNCW-Towson Game Set For National TV

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's basketball team's success this season has translated into another national television game for the Seahawks.

Colonial Athletic Association officials early Tuesday announced that UNCW's home matchup with Towson on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, will be carried by CBS Sports Network. The Seahawks' last two games at William & Mary and Hofstra have been shown nationally.

Tip-off for the UNCW-Towson game has been moved up to 6 p.m. at Trask Coliseum. The teams battled in an overtime thriller in Maryland in January, with UNCW prevailing, 81-77, as part of a 12-game winning streak that spanned December and January.

UNCW, 16-7 overall, sits atop the CAA standings at 10-2 after opening conference play at 9-0. The Seahawks, picked ninth in October's preseason poll, have already won their most CAA games since UNCW's 2017 NCAA Tournament run.

Towson was picked to finish eighth in the preseason poll and holds down second in the conference at 8-3. The Tigers are the CAA's top team in the NET rankings and their eight road victories this season ranks among the top-10 nationally.

CBS Sports Network will carry the 2022 CAA Championship semifinals and final in March at the DC Sports & Entertainment Center in Washington, DC.
