All-America Honors For Standout Brooks Baldwin

Red-shirt junior was named NCBWA Preseason All-America
WILMINGTON, N.C. – Coming off a triple crown season in 2021, UNCW red-shirt junior Brooks Baldwin has been named a preseason All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Tuesday.

"What a great and deserving honor for Brooks," said UNCW Head Coach Randy Hood. "We're ecstatic to have him back for another year and to help him continue to develop as a player and overall person. He wants more for himself and this program and that's a huge reason why he's back to finish his degree (on time). He wants help lead our program to the next level we're trying to achieve. In my opinion, he's one of the top overall position players returning in college baseball."

Baldwin, an All-Atlantic Region and first-team All-CAA honoree last spring, led the Seahawks with .325 batting average, 15 home runs and 45runs batted in. He led the Colonial Athletic Association with 79 hits and 141 total bases.

Baldwin, who was named to the third team, was selected in the 15th round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft but choose to return to UNCW for the 2022 season.
