CAA Pegs Ross As Rookie of the Week

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Freshman Noah Ross has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Rookie of the Week after helping the UNCW men's basketball team extend its winning streak to eight games.

Ross, a 6-7, 200-pound guard from Apex, N.C., poured in a career high 15 points and added six rebounds, two assists and two steals as UNCW trimmed High Point, 85-82, on Sunday at Trask Coliseum. Ross went 4-for-7 from the floor and 4-for-6 at the free throw line to eclipse his previous best of eight points in his home debut back on Nov. 11 vs. Allen.

The Trinity Academy graduate has appeared in 11 games for the 9-3 Seahawks and started the last eight contests. Ross is averaging 3.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in his first season with the Seahawks.

Ross and the Seahawks play their final game before the Christmas break on Wednesday when they take on Campbell in a 2 p.m. tip-off at Gore Arena/Pope Convocation Center in Buies Creek, N.C.
