Seahawks Conclude First Day Of CAA Meet

HARRISONBURG, Virginia – Junior Owen Pelletier finished second in the Men's Long Jump to highlight UNCW's finishes as the Seahawk men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up the first day of the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Track & Field Championships at James Madison's Sentara Park.
 
Pelletier, from Orford, N.H., won the silver medal in the Men's Long Jump with a leap of 22-07.00. Junior Jonathan Lloyd claimed bronze in the Men's Javelin with a throw of 187-06.
 
Sophomore Ryan Hunt took the lead in the Men's Decathlon heading into the second and final day. The Durham, N.C., product won the 100 Meters (11.30), Long Jump (19-09.00), High Jump (5-11.25), Shot Put (34-08-.50) and 400 Meters (54.17) competitions to dominate the decathlon field on the meet's opening day.
 
The remainder of the Decathlon events begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Several field events will take place in the morning, with the running events getting under way at 11 a.m.
