Seahawk Staff Spotlight: Kama Tucker

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.

We open the month of March by profiling Kama Tucker, who serves as the Associate Head Coach for the UNCW Softball team. Tucker is in her seventh season on the Seahawks' staff and works with the UNCW pitching staff.  

What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW? 
Being so excited to meet the student-athletes.   

What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
Helping coach a team that reached the CAA Championship for the first time in a decade and also being a part of the team that set a school record for wins in a season.

What does working at UNCW mean to you?
Teamwork. I am thankful for my co-workers and all they do for the university.  

If you were an athlete, what jersey number would you want to wear and why?
I wore #7 and #13.

Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I played softball and volleyball while I was at Barton College.
