WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.
Our weekly feature series continues with a look at
Beth Peele, who serves as an administrative assistant in the Department of Athletics. Peele works with the UNCW men's basketball, men's golf and women's golf programs.
What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW?
I remember being excited to work at my alma mater, but I was also nervous because I had never worked at a university or even been a part of an athletics department. I received my degree in Social Work and always worked in the health care field. I knew it was a new men's basketball staff, so I looked forward to a new career and getting to work in a fun and exciting environment.
What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
Winning the CAA Men's Basketball Championships in 2016 and 2017! I was at all of the tournament games and I was able to cut down part of the net.
What does working at UNCW mean to you?
I love it! I work for a great university. I am proud to say I went to school at UNCW and now work here. It is an honor and a privilege.
