WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.
Our first installment for the 2021 calendar year shines the spotlight on
T.R. Nisonger, who has worked as a Compliance Coordinator for the Seahawks since September 2016.
What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW?Â
I don't remember much, but I do remember going through the onboarding process and getting familiar with the campus layout. Â
What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
One of my favorite moments is the 2017 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament game against Virginia. Even though it wasn't the result we wanted, you could see the support for the team across the entire campus community. Â
What does working at UNCW mean to you?
Working at UNCW to me means assisting and providing guidance to all of our coaches and student-athletes while helping them achieve their goals in the classroom and in their respective sport. Â
If you were an athlete, what jersey number would you want to wear and why?
I would wear #12 because that was the number I wore playing sports throughout much of my childhood. Â Â Â
Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I played golf for one semester at Urbana University. I did not play in any events but still had a wonderful time and it gave me a glimpse into the life of a student-athlete. Â
