WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.
This week's edition profiles women's soccer assistant coach
Jennifer Ludemann, who is in her third season at her alma mater. Â
What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW?Â
We hit the ground running on my first day! Preseason was right around the corner and our staff was excited to get started. Â
What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
One of my favorite memories was breaking the shutout minutes record last season. It was exciting to see the girls' hard work pay off and I think we reached a new level of defensive toughness that I am excited to see continue in the years to come. Â Â Â
What does working at UNCW mean to you?
It is so special to work at the same university I attended and played for. I feel so lucky to coach and mentor girls who are walking the same halls I walked and putting on the same jersey I wore. I take great pride in being a Seahawk!
If you were an athlete, what jersey number would you want to wear and why?
18 – It is the number I wore when I played at UNCW.
Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I played soccer at UNCW and was a member of the 2009 CAA Championship team. (
Editor's Note: Ludemann was also a two-time team captain who earned a spot on the CAA All-Tournament Team during her senior season in 2012.) Â
