Seahawks To Make Debut At Halton Arena

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW-Charlotte series in men's basketball dates back to 1964, but the Seahawks have never played in Dale F. Halton Arena, the 49ers' 9,000-seat facility that opened in 1996.

That will all change on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, when Head Coach Takayo Siddle carries his club to the Queen City for a matchup with the 49ers.

uncc_scheduleIt's a return game for the Seahawks after falling to the 49ers, 76-57, last December at Trask Coliseum. The two clubs had not played in 14 years before that meeting.

In this past year's matchup, Charlotte scored 24 unanswered points over a 12-minute stretch midway through the first half and went on to post its first road victory of the season at Trask Coliseum. Milos Supica paced five Charlotte players in double figures with a season-high 15 points. Ty Gadsden, playing his first game of the year following off-season surgery, came off the bench to hit three triples and finished with 11 points.

The contest will be a homecoming for three Seahawks. Sophomore guard Jake Boggs (Carmel Christian), junior guard Jaylen Sims (United Faith Christian) and Gadsden (Believe Prep) each call Charlotte home.
