Phu Khine carded a 3-under-par 69 to lead UNCW during the second round of the UCF Challenge at the Eagle Creek Golf Club on Monday afternoon.

The Seahawks, who stand in 16th place through 36 holes, improved their team score by 27 strokes to finish the second round with a 297 team score. No. 39 Miami surged past No. 13 Michigan State to take the team lead after shooting an impressive 8-under-par 280.

Khine, who shot 4-over-par in the opening round, moved into a tie for 25th place after posting her sixth round of par or better this season. She authored five birdies in the second round, including a birdie on two of her final three holes.

Keri Kenkel shot a 2-over-par 74 in the second round while sophomore
Alexis Jarrell and senior
Thao My Nguyen each posted a 5-over-par 77. Nguyen is tied for 58th place through 36 holes at 7-over-par (74-77=151). Â
