WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.

The latest edition of the weekly feature shines the spotlight on Ryan Heath, who is in his first season as video coordinator for the UNCW men's basketball team.  

What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW? 
My first day working at UNCW was from home due to COVID-19, but I was just as excited as I would have been if I was in the office. It was a great feeling for me personally because this is my first "real job" and it was something we had been dreaming about for a long time.

What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
My favorite memory working at UNCW so far was being able to meet the players for the first time in person. I look forward to help developing them on and off the court.   

What does working at UNCW mean to you?
Working at UNCW means going above and beyond to make sure the students and student-athletes have the best college experience imaginable. No matter what is going on in our lives or the world around us, they should always be the top priority.     

If you were an athlete, what jersey number would you want to wear and why?

Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I served as a student manager for the men's basketball team at NC State.
