Seahawk Staff Spotlight: Takayo Siddle

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.

TakayoSiddleThis week's spotlight highlights Head Men's Basketball Coach Takayo Siddle, who embarks on his first season as the Seahawks' bench boss. Siddle, a 2009 graduate of Gardner-Webb, spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Seahawks from 2014-17 and helped UNCW win a pair of Colonial Athletic Association Tournament titles along with three straight regular season crowns.

What do you remember about your first day working at UNCW? 
The beautiful campus

What is one of your favorite memories of working at UNCW?
Winning the 2016 CAA championship  

What does working at UNCW mean to you?
It is a dream come true for me.

If you were an athlete, what jersey number would you want to wear and why?
24 – Kobe Bryant is my favorite player/athlete.

Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I played basketball at Gardner-Webb for four years. (Editor's Note: Siddle appeared in 114 games from 2005-09 and helped the Bulldogs stun No. 20 Kentucky at Rupp Arena during his junior season.)
