WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCWSports.com will look at the members of the UNCW Department of Athletics staff with a weekly feature called "Seahawk Staff Spotlight." Each Tuesday, the website will profile a different member of the staff.

This week's spotlight highlights Head Men's Basketball Coach Takayo Siddle, who embarks on his first season as the Seahawks' bench boss. Siddle, a 2009 graduate of Gardner-Webb, spent three seasons as an assistant coach for the Seahawks from 2014-17 and helped UNCW win a pair of Colonial Athletic Association Tournament titles along with three straight regular season crowns.

Winning the 2016 CAA championship  

What does working at UNCW mean to you?
It is a dream come true for me.

24 – Kobe Bryant is my favorite player/athlete.

Did you play sports in college? If so, what sport and where did you play?
I played basketball at Gardner-Webb for four years. (Editor's Note: Siddle appeared in 114 games from 2005-09 and helped the Bulldogs stun No. 20 Kentucky at Rupp Arena during his junior season.)
